I just recieved a call from a guy at sleep number. His excuse was it's QVC's fault that the fact that the warranty is pro-rated has been left out of the programs, and that they should take care of the situation. I asked who's fault it was that the product didn't last as long as the warranty. It's an expensive investment, and it doesn't live up to the hype both Sleep Number and QVC give it. The "fix" the lady from their parts department gave me, and I paid for when I ordered it didn't work. A few hundred dollars more and the problem might be fixed. It's a waste of time and money to buy these beds.

Re: Sleep Number Bed

[ Edited ]

I am leaning more towards a temperpedic bed then a sleep number when I get A  new bed. There are just to many parts to a sleep number and to. Any things that can go wrong.

I would never have a Sleep Number bed.  I know someone who bought one and seemed to like it.  Not too many years later she replaced it with another brand of a regular mattress.  It shouldn't have needed replacing so soon.

I know QVC has people that watch these boards. They should tell the legal department to tell the sleep number bed and serta bed venders to stipulate that the warranties are pro-rated.  It makes a big difference to the customer. The first guy from Select Comfort I spoke on the phone with was named Drew and he basically laid the whole problem on QVC's lap. He blamed them for the problem, and said I should take it up with them. The second man I spoke with was a supervisor and he was much more understanding and I think we might have the problem resolved. But the fact that they said that the bed had a 20 year warranty was the deciding factor when I bought it. Whether or not I would have bought such an expensive item with a pro-rated warranty, I'm not sure. But I should have had that information. They now sell beds with a 25 year warranty, and from what I was told it is also pro-rated, but I have never heard that mentioned in any of the shows I've watched. If it's not a full warranty then the customer should know that.
