Aren't you supposed to replace the tape whenever you remove the shower head?

@catter70 how long do you soak it for?
I hope @catter70 will forgive me for answering for her but what I do is put the bag with vinegar on my shower head after my DH and I have showered for the night. I then leave it on for the whole night and remove it the following day. You have to leave it on long enough for the vinegar to work.

Good for you. I don't have hard water but may still try it. I love a hand held shower fixture. Especially as I age, it is more flexible than a permanent fixture.

I've been meaning to try this.

After soaking with vinegar or CLR I use an old toothbrush to clean the shower head. It works better than a toothpick and is much quicker.
