Re: Shoe Organizing Question

@BunSnoop  I try to put all of my tennis shoes together, then my flats , then dressier, then boots on the very top shelf.  Most if not all my shoes are in their original boxes or bags that they came in.  The only exception is I have a Periea box on the floor of my closet filled with Spenco/Revitalign open toed slides.

Re: Shoe Organizing Question

I am fortunate that I have a huge walk in closet and California Closets designed a custom system for me.

I keep the shoes I wear often on the shoe shelves, some newer ones in boxes and some worn often shoes out of their boxes.

They are organized by type, sandals, flats, heels, etc.

I also have four under the bed shoe organizers that hold shoes I don't wear often....mainly seasonal shoes like snow/rain boots, fancy heels, gold and silver and probably shoes I wore one time and they hurt...I should just donate them.

I have a lot of shoes and mostly live in my bare or stocking  feet.  Shoes tend to be uncomfortable and I think I keep buying them hoping to find that perfect comfortable pair.

Re: Shoe Organizing Question

I have two, over the door shoe bags.  One is for fall/winter shoes an the other is spring/summer.  Both are full so when I purchase a new pair of shoes, a pair must be donated.   Once upon a time I had so many shoes and items of clothing that simply were never worn.  When I made the decision to streamline my wardrobe the first item I tackled were shoes.  I never locked back and my closet is now full of items I wear!

Re: Shoe Organizing Question

I have plastic boxes for shoes....off season are stored in the boxes in the closet.  When the season changes I put the new season of shoes out and put away the past season.

I must be the only one that organizes by season.

Mine are by the season as well.  Easy to check that way to see if I need anything new for the season.  Usually a big no.  I have so many shoes.

Re: Shoe Organizing Question

I organize by season--have many flip flops/sandals that take up most the space and the the fall/winter ones. But I did get donate more than 40 pairs a few years ago---so if there are ones you don't wear--get rid of them first.

Re: Shoe Organizing Question

I don't really organize my shoes other than putting the seldom worn ones on a higher shelf in the closet.  I have matching clear boxes for each pair, so it's easy to see what I have.  The shoes I wear most frequently are in drawers by my entry.  I had a custom piece of furniture crafted for that area to house all of the drop zone items like keys, my purse, tape, scissors, box cutter, shoes, outside light bulbs, etc.

Luckily, I don't have that many pairs of shoes.  For years, I could only wear one type.  After some surgery this year, I've expanded my shoe wardrobe, but it's still pretty limited.
