I purchased recently an item that was a QVC Big Deal.  It's Periea 12 Compartment Shoe Organizer - I ordered 2 of them.   I really like this organizer so I just order 2 more.  I guess you can tell I have LOTS of shoes!

How do you organize your shoes?

Do you put all shoes that are the same color together?

or...

Do you put all of your tennis shoes together, all of you flats together, all of your dress shoes together, all of you sandals together, etc.

As of right now, I've put shoes together by their "type" rather than by color.   As for the dress shoes, since it's so seldom I wear any, I just left them in their shoe boxes and will store them on top of the organizer.

Just curious, how do you organize your shoes?

Re: Shoe Organizing Question

I organize my shoes by type, running shoes, Birkenstock, Clarks, then boots, dress/fancy.
I have rolling bins under my bed that I put all my shoes in.

Re: Shoe Organizing Question

I organize by type, too. Tennis shoes, casual flats, dressier flats, low boots, tall boots.  Sandals are put away when the boots come out, then boots are stored when the sandals come out. All on shelves in the closet except for the out of season shoes which are stored in a large plastic bin. But definitely by type, not color.

Re: Shoe Organizing Question

I organize my shoes by brand. I leave them in the boxes because many of the shoes come with protective bags or stuffing, especially Spring Step. I print labels to place on the end of each box. It is then easy for me to find the shoe I am wanting to wear for the day.

Re: Shoe Organizing Question

Almost all of my shoes are sneakers so I just put them on a shelf. The other pairs are 2 pairs of boots and one flat and a couple pairs of sandals. Sneakers are my shoe of choice. No heels, wedges.

I also keep the shoes in boxes. And often if I like a certain shoe, I buy it in different colors. I think by having the shoes in boxes it is easy to organize and identify the pair of shoes that you want. I can get 2 boxes and sometimes 3 in each section of the organizer. For shoes I don't wear often or are out of season, I have the boxes piled on a shelf or the closet floor.

Re: Shoe Organizing Question

I have a small walk in closet and another regular closet right next to it.  That closet used to be DH's but he has made his closet in another room so it is now my shoe & bag closet.

I have a 5 tier shoe rack that holds 20 pairs of shoes.  I keep my current in season shoes in that.  Right now it's boots (I only wear ankle not high boots) and a few pairs of mules.

I have another shoe rack that holds 12 pairs of shoes on the bottom of my walk in closet.  I keep sneakers in that.

Out of season shoes are stored in Periea organizers up on my shelf in the closet.  I have several and each organizer holds several pairs of shoes.

If I run out of room I make myself get rid of some shoes.
