Does anyone line their kitchen cabinets with shelf paper anymore?   The last time we moved was 2007 and I lined mine but I don't know anyone who does that anymore.   We're moving this week and I'm wondering if it's necessary.

I moved recently too.  And I went to BB&B to buy shelf paper.  It's all made of plastic now, but it is certainly available, and I suspect, an often purchased item.  I like to use it because when I feel like it, I just toss and replace the paper without having to actually clean the shelves.  Of course, the first time I line the shelves upon moving into a new home, I would wash the shelves before lining them.

Yes, I use shelf liner.  I have no specific reason other than my mother always did.

I buy a wall paper that I like and use that for self paper and also to put in my dressers, chest of drawers.  It makes me smile to see  something pretty when I open cabinet or other things I line with wallpaper.

We used some heavy plastic-like stuff that is great.  Shelf paper was something that to me was hard to use and wrinkled and tore.

yes!  I like the way my cabinets and pot drawers look.  Plus it's easy to clean.  I have also "lined" my bathroom cabinets.  I picked up the larger rolls at WM & Lowe's.  I like it came in wider widths to accommodate my drawers.

I used the Contact non-adhesive with grip in a beige color like this:

I knew something was missing from my newly installed kitchen cabinets, but no I won't put in shelf paper.

At BB&B I buy a puffy plastic shelf liner that comes in rolls and easy to cut.  (It is difficult to describe but if you go to BB&B I'm sure that you could identify...it is a stock item.)  I use it for my kitchen drawers and shelves.  It looks great and comes in subtle colors as well as white and cream.

My shelves are melamine coated and I find that they sometimes cause things to become discolored so I prefer to line them with shelf paper.  I ordered custom cut papers from chicshelfpaper.  It wasn't cheap, but boy, was it easy to use.  The thing I always hated about most shelf paper is that it isn't wide enough for the depth of my shelves, so I have to use twice as much and cut it to fit.

@Bridgegal, I use the heavy duty clear plastic liners.  Costco sells a large roll.  I think you can buy at the $ store as well.  LM
