Sharper Image Humidifier TSV has issues

Anyone else who bought this TSV having issues with the product? Mine after only 3 nights of use has become extremely noisy. Too noisy to use at night, which is why I purchased it. It is on a level surface, and that is the only "troubleshooting" fix according to the manual. Not to mention the slight water leakage from it.

I am wondering if I could call QVC about this defect, and see if they will pay the shipping for the return, since it cannot be used for the intended purpose.
