As I was hoping, the Sonic Duo is the TSV coming up. I have looked at the description of the one that was sold here recently and the description of the TSV per the link in the email, not sure what the differences are besides color and model number. {#emotions_dlg.unsure} Bed Bath and Beyond also sells two models, the differences seems to be negligible on those two. Does anyone know if the TSV (hope others got the email too) is worth it or should I just use my coupon and get the cheaper one from BB&B? Easy pay and Mr Rebates would be added advantages to buying from QVC, shipping is free. My needs are mainly to clean carpets from kitty issues and general light dirt. We do not wear outdoor shoes in the house and I do get the carpet professionally cleaned twice a year.

I had a similar machine by Shark which I bought 3 yrs. ago, so it's an older model. I don't even know where the daRn thing is now -- somewhere in "storage". Why? Because the pads never got clean. I used mine for hardwood floors and ended up with a bunch of DIRTY, DIRTY pads that never got clean. After laundering the pads numerous times, they stayed black. I never used the machine after that.

You're planning to use it for carpet -- different situation. Good luck! {#emotions_dlg.thumbdown}

Edit: Sorry, I meant to say kitchen floor. I'm thinking "hardwood" 'cause I did clean my hardwood floors yesterday (with a swiffer).

If you laundered the pads, but the dark color never came out of them, that was just cosmetic, they were still clean, yes? It would be like laundering a clothing item with a grease spot, that you couldn't get out. The item is clean, but it has a stain you cant remove. I can understand not wanting to wear the clothing item, but, what am I missing? The pads are just going to get dirty again when you use them; why would it bother you to use clean pads, that are stained? You're using them to clean the floors! Bless your heart! If they do the job, I don't care if they look pristine, every time I use them!

If I had issues with carpet, I'd buy a carpet shampooer which I'm sure would do a much more thorough job. Since this Shark has no way of extracting dirt, I would only use it for an occasional spot cleaning. The Bissell Spot Bot does a great job on animal "mistakes" and with no effort.

I have the Shark Sonic Duo. I like it for hardwood flooring but didn't think it did such a great job on the carpet. Yes, it cleaned the stain/area but within days it was back. If you're looking for something mainly for carpets, I would look into the Bissell carpet cleaner on QVC. I think it's customer top rated. My sister has it and likes it a lot and down the road I can see myself buying that.
