All of my appliances are scratch & dent, I've saved 45 to 80% off. The 80% is a high end gas convection stove, I found it online at a local store & they delivered it to our home for my inspection without charging me a dime...one little hard to find dent on the side at the bottom so I couldn't buy it fast enough & 9yrs later it's still working great. I'm proud to say I am a scratch & dent type of person. Good luck OP, hope it works out for you too.

We wanted to hang a cabinet over the washing machine and looked at scratch & dent ones at Lowes. Found one with the entire rt side gone, but we got it for $29. They even gave us a piece of plywood to put in there - DH hung it over the washer with the piece of plywood against the wall. You can only tell if you open it up. Then from the side of that cabinet to the opposite wall DH hung a closet rod so when I get things out of the dryer I can immediately hang them up before they wrinkle. It looks perfect - saved us around $150.

@Abrowneyegirl It depends on how damaged the DW is. If it is hardly noticeable, I would definitely go with it. However, if it is really damaged, I would say no. A little scratch makes no difference but a huge dent in the front does. ![]()

I bought a brand new dishwasher that had a dent in the middle of the door. This door was the kind that you could change out a panel on it to make it a different color or finish...so I did that and it looks like nothing ever happened.

I would absolutely consider a scratch and dent appliance.

Heck yeah, get it!!
I didn't know it then @Abrowneyegirl, but growing up we always had scratch & dent appliances, and furniture too.
My Mom said our fridge had a tiny scratch near the bottom, on the side that faced the wall, so it wouldn't have shown anyhow.
My Dad brought home a coffee table with a (easily fixed) tiny scratch on one leg. Armchair with a (repairable) pulled thread on one side of the seat.

When my younger son & fiance were buying their first home -- the kitchen was "remodeled" beautifully but there were no appliances. We decided to gift them new Samsung appliances -- sticker shock set in then for some reason they never thought about washer/dryer.
They moved in and realized neither worked (in fact, the washing machine was just a shell😮). We went back to Best Buy bought front loaders off "scratch & dent" section....saving close to $500 on both! There was nothing mechanically wrong, came with 1 year warranty, -- had a small scratch on top of washer & small dent on side of dryer!

About 12 years ago, I spotted a lowboy cabinet in a Crate & Barrel catalog that I fell in love with and had the perfect spot for it....I called our local Crate & Barrel store but they didn't have it available in their store; however, they did have one available in another store located in another State which was only about a 1-1/2 hour drive for us.
So, my husband and I drove up to check it out and it was made very well and we were very pleased with the quality....It just so happened that it had a slight defect on it, of which I don't even remember what it was...There are times that we even try to look for it....lol...Anyhow, we ended up getting it at half the price!
Great buy!

OP here:
So I went to look at it, and yes it was still in the orginial box. It was refused by the purchaser because it was black instead of black stainless.
It is in perfect condition, so of course I bought it!!!
Of course while I was there I noted they had 2 sets of washer and dryers that is a discountinued model (the new ones have a different color combo of brushed and shiney silver.....)
BIG savings and it would be only 1 delivery/install charge for all 3 peices.........hmmmmmmm
