As long as it's not on the front where it would show, who cares what the rest of it looks like. If it's on the front it's your call what you can live with. For me that would be a "NO".

My dryer was the floor model that became dented when a cart that was moving items backed into it; it also scratched the paint.
Have to tell you: I could hardly see the dent (have to put my finger over the area to know it was there) and the paint was a tiny nick near the dent. Plus, they are on the side that sits up next to the washer so you'll never see them.
Those 2 little things plus being a floor model (meaning people looked at it and open/closed the door on occasion) gave me 75% off plus free installation. I ALWAYS look at the scratch and dent section first!!!

As long as it wasn't on the front where it could be seen I would buy a scratch and dent, even if it were on the front, depending on how big it was or how noticeable it was I would consider it.
Definitely a washer or dryer because they're usually in a closet, have their own room or are in the basement.

No, I've never had that experience with a dish washer before. I'd make sure that it works and there's no mechanical issues with it as well before you purchase it. Best of luck!

Absolutley I would consider a scratch and dent appliance. Just would make sure it was damaged in a place that no one could see. And if it were a washer or dryer then that wouldn't matter as much. With the cost of new appliances these days, why not save as much as you can. My refer, stove and dishwasher are all 18 years old, still going strong, (may the appliance gods be with me) so I will be in the market for new soon enough.

I haven't bought a scratch and dent, but only because I never found one when looking for an appliance.
My mom however, back about 1961, was in the market for a dryer and the store they frequented for this kind of thing, had a pink one in the window, that had faded in spots. She got a great deal on it, and it was always in the basement of whatever house we moved to, so who was going to see it?
It lasted for many, many years.
My only concern would be how the appliance was damaged. If it is from something bumping it, you should be just fine. If it was dropped, even in packing crate, it could have sustained internal damage/shock that could shorten the life of the electronics or other components.

Absolutely, as long as I received a substantial discount and full warranty. I do have some limits. IE., If I was doing a totally new kitchen, and the scratch/dent would create an eyesore, then perhaps I'd pass.

I always buy my appliances from the scratch and dent section. I look them over very carefully to see where the damage is and only choose ones where the damage doesn't bother me. I've bought three refrigerators (for houses in three different states) and my current washer and dryer. I've never had a problem with the mechanics of any of them.

Yes, years ago I needed a fridge ASAP, found one at an appliance store. He was severely dented and scratched on the very bottom panel. I had to beg them to sell it to me. Bought it and used it for years and years with no problems.

I'm not a scratch and dent kind of person.
