My son had to have that done last summer. The collapsed area was in the front yard about halfway between the house and the sidewalk. He got a few estimates and I think it cost him about $450 to have the line replaced.
A neighbor had their sewer line under their slab collapse and their homeowners insurance covered the repairs minus the deductible of course.

I've had this done 3 times now. The first time, my drain was backing up & had someone come out & they ran the camera down & a backflow preventer had failed, so they had to dig up a hole about 4-5 ft. down in my front yard & took the backflow preventer totally out & made it a straight shot, since it was no longer required by the local building code to have it. They left 2 clean-out access places, one looking towards the inside of my house & the other out to the sewer. I thought that was the end of it, but...
Then a couple of years later, the drain was backing up again & I called again & they scoped it & tree roots were getting into the sewer line, because they hadn't put salt around the place where they'd dug it up before. So another 5 ft. deep hole in the same spot again. At that time, they scoped it again & there was another place near my driveway where it looked like they might've nicked the piping with a backhoe or something when the house was being built & tree roots were infiltrating the line there, too, so they dug another 5 ft. deep hole in my yard.
I referred to it as "The Big Dig" as I had these 2 deep holes in my yard overnight, since it took them 2 days to do it all. When they fixed it & buried it all back up, they packed lots of salt around the line in both spots to deter roots. Then I had all 3 trees in my front yard removed & the stumps killed & ground. I hope none of my neighbor's tree roots come looking in my yard for water!
One of my old neighbors up in WA had to get his sewer pipe replaced all the way from the house to the street, as the clay piping was old & had collapsed & fir tree roots were growing into it. It cost him nearly $9K to get it fixed & that was many years ago.

We needed it done when we lived in pa - the problem was in the street and the water company had to take care of it - they also paid the plumber who scoped it and we were refunded for paying him.

We had to have this done and it cost us a few $000. The problem was in the pipeline between street and where it joins to our home. It was a ""big dig"" and there was a huge trench that ran from the street up our back hill to our foundation. We were able to use our plumber because he was on the ""list"". He did a very good job of filling in the trench when the line problem was repaired. We had neighbors that did not have that outcome. The root of our problem was old pipes and tree roots.
A few years later we had to have it done again on a different drain and that was a much cheaper project. They were able to locate the blockage and free the clog. That only cost a few hundred $ and it was fixed in a day. My husband ""tweaked"" the project by installing some pvc pipe and a drain screen in the yard for easier access in the future.
