I need your help ladies. My living room is very big, in the middle around the fireplace I have a "conversation area". A sofa on one side with coffee table and opposite the fireplace two club chairs and ottomans with side table between. My LR was professionally done and she had a braided rug made with the colors of the furniture, white with a little blue and a little green thrown in here and there. Problem was, living in the NE the rug was getting dirty too quickly so I put it in a bedroom. I went to a braided rug factory and purchased a rug, but its too small and to have one made for that size again would be more money than im willing to spend.
Now to my question. Would it be/look tacky if I bought two 5x8 or 8x10 rugs and put them together? The seam would probably run just past the coffee table, if I put the rugs to end evenly on either end of the furniture? I just put down new wood floor and want to protect it from the furniture. For some reason, being oak, they are still scratching so I want the rug so the furniture wont slide.
Thanks ladies!!
Cath
