Has anyone ever found an attractive rug that you would or have used for a wall hanging?

I presently have an idea for one I like but I don't know if there would be any problems with doing what I've described.

We have several 5x7 Chimayo rugs hanging in two rooms. We bought rug hanging mechanisms to distribute the weight.

How about crochet or macrame?

Re: Rug For a Wall Hanging

[ Edited ]

@Puzzle Piece.  It's not a new idea.  Years ago when I had to pinch pennies, I used a beautiful, inexpensive rust hooked rug that had flowers in it, on the wall over the sofa.

Later, my mom gave me a beautiful white Navajo yei rug that I hung on my dining room wall for years.  It was unsuitable for floor use since it's  white.

I have a rug hanger that's two slats of attractively finished wood slats.  It's attached to the wall with the edge of the rug sandwiched between the two pieces.  Doesn't damage the rug.

@Puzzle Piece  I have animal skin rugs hanging on my walls.

My daughter-in-Law for Christmas 2 yrs ago gave me a wall rug with a large engraved picture of Jesus on it. I hung it on my dining room wall. It's very nice.

I have a beautiful smaller sized rug with wine glasses and a bowl of fruit pictured on it.   I had bought this on a vacation in Italy.  I am not a seamstress so I had a open material slot sewn on the back and it's hanging on a gold rod in my dining room.   It's quite lovely.
