@demanda wrote:I need some advice. I have a separate dining room that is rectangular and narrow. While a rectangular table would be ideal, I found a round table that I fell in love with. Do you think that would look awkward? I just can't picture it. I would really love your advice. Thank you!
Don't feel you need to "mirror" the shape of a room at all. You need to make the space pleasant for you.![]()
A round table is ideal for a narrow space allowing more movement around it. Rectangle shapes have corners you can "get killed on" as you move around.
There are beautiful glass tops with instreing wood colums, sometimes actual cured tree trunks which are stunning.
Just find what you like. My set was put together. The work table came out of an old barn, it's 150+ years old. The ladder backs are hand made.![]()

Thank you this has been my 1st choice. Today I went to look at the set -- they told me 4-6 months for delivery😳.
I will order after I see what others are out there I may like and can get w/in reasonable time.
Thank you again 🌸

First picture needs larger table surface to feed six people. I have a pet peeve with interior decorators. They totally ignore function.
