Good Evening Everyone,

I’m wondering if any of you have had experience with Renewal by Anderson when it comes to replacing the windows in your homes. TIA

Re: Renewal by Anderson

[ Edited ]

Yes, we had Andersen casement windows in all 3 of our bedrooms upstairs bedrooms, bath and kitchen, we had them all replaces with Renewal by Andersen double hung windows, the bathroom was replaces with a slider window. They were pricier than others - but not as high as Pella. Andersen did a great job, and handled interest free financing. We also had 2 patio doors and a living room storm door done shortly thereafter.

This now 7 or 8 years later. There was an issue with one of our bedroom windows, evidently there was also a recall so they replaced all the windows again, at no expense to us. We are in the Laurel mountains, we are high wind and snow, 20 MPH winds are fairly normal here. The windows have with stood it well. Our large panoramic windows in the dining room, formal living room and  family room are original, our home was built in 1984 the original windows are still fine other than the interior trim which we have painted.

The replacement team was wonderful, everything was neat and clean, they were prompt and done exactly within the time they quoted.  Ifmyou have questions ask away!

Very pushy. Constantly calling, sending mail. Overpriced. Pella was much cheaper in our area (Arizona). Don't know if they are in your area but we used Window World and they've been great. We replaced all our windows and doors. We chose Window World because of the warranty.

@Meowingkitty  interesting, we did not find them pushy at all. And we had 2 window done by Window World, we replaced them with Andersen when the rest were done. But Andersen was more costly.

We got a quote for 2 new windows.  Their (Anderson) price was quite a bit higher than the other bids we got.  We ended up going with a local company.  We have a good window, nice screens as well.

I dealt with the sales people and did not find Anderson to be pushy at all, but it might depend on the area of the country and of course the sales person.

A guy from Anderson came through our neighborhood door to door. We made an appointment. I just hope it’s not a scam! I wouldn’t make a commitment or pay any money until I thoroughly checked it out, but I don’t want a scam artist in the house. Is this how they normally work?

Yes they did that in my neighborhood also.  My husband spoke to the guy, but we didn't set up an appointment.  We used a local company here in nyc instead.  They did a great job and even rebuilt my bay window ledge at no charge.

I get so many emails from renewal that it is ridiculous though.  I've even blocked the emails and they still get through somehow.

I also used Window World for replacement of doors and windows. I found them to be completely professional and really nice people. They did a great job and I would use them again if need be. I did not do all the work at the same time but over years and they did not not change.

I would sure talk to several groups, including local contractors who have been around a long time.  You might be pleasantly surprised with some quotes like we were.

I had two estimates from local companies, both with years long experience. I replaced all my windows and two sets of doors. Job was done in less than a day, superb service. Have not had a problem in 7 years.

I  like supporting local businesses.
