This is what the contractors did in my kitchen.

I couldn't agree more! We did our kitchen ourselves and I can tell you that not painting before the floors and cabinets go in is a huge mistake! I know, I made it! I'd rather touch up the places that might need it afterwards than worry about painting once the new things are in.
