Remember These?

[ Edited ]

My grandmother had a large mirror shadow box similar to this one on her living room wall but in gold. She used to put small vases and small porcelain figurines on it. My great aunt had one on her wall, too.

Do you remember large mirror shadow boxes?

I do remember those.  I wanted one, but now I'm glad I didn't buy one.

The one in the picture is on the ETSY website for $200. Some considered it Shabby Chic and others Vintage. I could see it in a mid-century modern style home.

Grandmother had a big one....and I was the lucky granddaughter that got to dust it every other week.

That is probably why to this day that as I am about to buy some decor item I ask myself " Do I want to dust / clean this thing for the rest of my life ? ". Usually the answer is NO !

I remember seeing these, but never had one and I don't remember anyone I know that had one either......
