Re: Remember Lladro Beautiful Figures?

I don't collect them, but I do have three of them.

I got two from my mother.  The first one I received was "Today's Lesson" for my first day of teaching in September 2001.

The second one was "The Happiest Day" for when I got married in 2005.

My husband got me "A Kiss to Remember" as a gift for when we got married as well.

I keep them on display in my curio cabinet in the dining room.  They are beautiful and timeless pieces.

Re: Remember Lladro Beautiful Figures?

My Mom collected porcelain dogs and she has a few very pretty Lladro pieces. They will be mine one day. She is almost 90 and wants me to take the collection now, and maybe I will when we move to our new house in February.

Also my DH and I bought a beautiful figurine of the dancing bride and groom by Lladro for his parents anniversary, but it got stolen by their home aid. Sad.

Re: Remember Lladro Beautiful Figures?

@ECBG,  wanted you to know that your fun post on beautiful Lladros inspired me to dig out my Royal Doulton "fair ladies" again.  I usually rotate them in and out of storage. I have just four.  Here's the one my parents gave me, "Leading Lady",  because she has a small book (a script I guess, since she's an actress), because I was always reading:

And here's "Lorna", which I got for myself:

Found both images online-- I cannot believe the low prices they are going for these days!  But as others have said, it's the personal enjoyment they give that's important.

This is another piece I own.  "A Sunday Stroll."

My beautiful angel arrived last night and is sitting in the middle of my square coffee table.  Absolutely exquisite.  My DIL will want this!

Wonderful Angel Figurine

Re: Remember Lladro Beautiful Figures?

I have one a little girl with a kitten. It was to celebrate my first granddaughter. She does love cats. I have a Hummel collection. I love them. My cousin was stationed in Germany and would send them home. Mine are old but again not worth what they once were.

Re: Remember Lladro Beautiful Figures?

I regret selling some of my Lladro pieces prior to downsizing. Reading this thread moved me to act. Rearranged my entry chest to display 2 of my larger pieces that work well together and picked up a smaller one on facebook marketplace. I placed the smaller one on a clear glass candle pedestal with the others.

I find these pieces to be beautiful and I am enjoying them on display in my home once again. No one here to knock them off the table top; my dog is too small and quiet.

Some are still asking big dollars on ebay. Certainly a lot less than original prices, but still expensive.

Re: Remember Lladro Beautiful Figures?

Me too, @queendiva -- because of this thread, I moved my Royal Doulton figurines to where I can easily enjoy them.  Have one "lady" on a mirrored tray on coffee table and she brings a little 'grace note' there every day...

Re: Remember Lladro Beautiful Figures?

It never dawned on me to purchase any of my Lladro pieces for the future value they may hold or for investment purposes.

I love them for their beauty and I still feel that way after owning some of them for over 20 years.

They make me smile..............how valuable is that?
