Very pretty-- to me has the "sheltering" feeling of the great hull of an antique ship--  love that vaulted wood ceiling.   Like the wood-and-stone combo also.

It's funny how people perceive the same photo.  I think it is too cluttered with the wing back chairs.  Not my cup of tea as far as design.

It really is interesting how we take away different things from the same 'scene'... To me, this room is huge and I would think that without seating pieces of some kind where the wing chairs are positioned, that end of the room would look bare. I happen to like the wing chairs and the fabric, but we all see things through our own eyes...

@stevieb

I think this space is tastefully done.  That being said, I feel it could use a pop of color as there's so many neutrals.  I also don't care for the pattern on the chairs.  The details to me that make this space likeable are all the windows, ceiling arches & stone fireplace.

My eyes are bored looking at this room.

Love the room.  I would prefer we chosen furniture with color.  I never enjoy "beige worlds".

The rustic part is right up my alley, but the refined; not so much.

@stevieb , interesting reactions to the photo.  In good weather, I would be taking a seat at the window.  In storms I would be in front of the big fireplace.
