It's definitely not a popular view among this group of posters, but I love the microfiber sheets. They're soft, smooth, comfortable, extraordinarily easy to care for, and nearly indestructible. They're cool and comfy in the summer and pretty comfy in the winter too. On top of all of that, they're among the least expensive sheet options out there. I truly find it hard to say anything negative about them. About the only issue is mine felt a bit papery until washed a few times, then they've been wonderful ever since. If people approached them with an open mind and gave them a fair chance I suspect they'd have more converts. They're very impressive sheets, just not a status symbol. If you want bragging rights on a set of sheets, then microfiber isn't for you, but if you want a good, soft, smooth, comfortable sheet that's nearly indestructible, then give microfiber a try. (You can get sets in all sizes for around $20 at Boscovs and other retailers.)

I have never tried those. I figure since they are made out of polyester they would be too hot for me. Are they full of static in the winter? Seems like they would stretch out of shape. I like flannel in the winter & 100% Egyptian cotton, SuPima cotton or bamboo for summer.

There's no static electricity and they hold their shape perfectly. They don't pill, wear, wrinkle, or have any of the "common" issues one gets with sheets.

I agree about the microfiber sheets. I wore out my last set of sheets, and was low on money at the time, so I bought a cheap set of microfiber sheets at Walmart, thinking I'd replace them when I had more money. I like them so much, I bought another set of the same.

I got an inexpensive set from HSN (Concierge), and I've tried hard not to like them. But I'll admit it, they are nice. They feel silky. I've never found them hot. If anyone finds putting new sheets on the bed a lot of work, the microfiber sheets help because they are so light.

You can't beat Lands End sheets for quality, they are excellent. I usually buy the 6oz Portuguese flannel sheets for winter but I buy them at the end of winter with a sale price and a coupon so they are reasonable. They also have excellent duvet covers which are pricey too but on sale and with a coupon they are worth it. They last for years and wash beautifully.

Are they sized good so that they tuck in well and stay tucked in? Also, what would you recommend for a good cotton sheet from them?

Several years ago, I bought some Cotton/Poly sheets from The Company Store, I believe it was, and they were the best sheets...washed and wore well...but I can't find Cotton/Poly sheets anymore.

Re: Recommendation for sheets

Hey ~ I didn't read the entire thread, but if you like the Wrinkle Defense Sheets from the Q, there is a great set on clearance today.  Still lots of colors still available.  Clearanced at $59.  I bought 2 sets a few months ago at $78, and got 4 sets today for $59.  I LOVE THESE SHEETS!!!

Re: Recommendation for sheets

my issue with "wrinkle defense" sheets anywhere is that they have chemicals in them to make them that way. I bought Sam's sheets not paying attention once and broke out from them. I don't want to be sleeping on something that has chemicals intentionally placed in/on them...

Re: Recommendation for sheets

Several years ago I picked up the best sheets at, of all places, Sam's Club. They aren't very expensive, super deep pockets, nice long and wide top sheet for over hang, and wash and wear so very well. I'm more pleased with them than any sheets I've purchased in a very long time.

They only have two brands at our Sam's and they were the cheaper ones, so I'd imagine the more expensive one's would be great too.

I've totally given up on Q sheets. They have disappointed me too many times in the last several years. The quality is just gone.

Re: Recommendation for sheets

I like and have had good luck with the percale sheets from Kohl's.  It's their store brand, something like The Big One.  I know percale's not for everyone but I love it.
