I like percale but surmise you do not, so won't pass along any suggestions. Smile

DH and I bought the bamboo sheet set from Cariloha.com when we were in the Caribbean last year. They're not cheap (about $200 for a king-size set) but we are absolutely hooked. They're incredibly silky - and when he thinks we should get another set, I know he likes them!! Check out their website to see where their stores are. It's worth it.

That said, the Q now offers a bamboo sheet set and I found some on Amazon, as well. I will be ordering a set just to see how they compare. I love a bargain and I'd love to get more colors at a better price...!

Just checked out the sheets from Cariloha.com & they are $239 now for king size. I may have to order a set. I'm going to wait & see if they come out with another coupon. I guess they just had 25% off on St. Patrick's Day. The bamboo sheets they sell are made from Viscose & the ones Q sells are from Rayon. I had a set of bamboo sheets I bought from Q years ago. I loved them. Don't know how they ones are that they have in stock now.

Re: Recommendation for sheets

Thank you all for the suggestions. I'm definitely going to look into the Bamboo sheets.

I think all of us have very specific needs when it comes to sheets! My DH and I like very soft Egyptian Cotton sheets (which we can't afford), but grew up on percale. I think it's getting harder to find really great sheets, but I certainly didn't know that higher tc sheets tend to rip. That explains why the last 2 sets of higher tc sheets ripped and the lower tc didn't.

Re: Recommendation for sheets

Target - threshold brand has the best sheets and you can but the pieces alone, no more top sheets if you do not need them

Cariloha has two tiers of sheets. The Resort Collection is 320tc and the Classic Collection is 230tc. Both feel amazingly soft and we were going to get more sets of the Classic. But when we got to St Maarten they had the Resort Collection in the darker gray we were looking for, we decided to spring for the more expensive Resort set. You can tell they're sewn a bit better, the corners fit better. They're a tad wonky on the Classic set, they fit just fine (don't forget, we were going to get more sets of them!) but there's a difference for the extra $50-$60 you spend on the Resort sets. I just can't recommend them highly enough.

I bought some of the Threshold sheets after they were recommended here and I could not be more pleased. What I love is that they fit a very deep mattress and still have plenty of give. Great prices, too!

I Love percale sheets, which ones do you recommend? I love the crispness and cool feeling they give.

I am also having a very hard time finding sheets that actually fit the mattress, after one night they are like rivers of material not tight like they used to be. I tried the stretch bands but that does not stop the bunching from the middle. Any suggestions?

Don't worry, be Happy!

Re: Recommendation for sheets

It's definitely not a popular view among this group of posters, but I love the microfiber sheets. They're soft, smooth, comfortable, extraordinarily easy to care for, and nearly indestructible. They're cool and comfy in the summer and pretty comfy in the winter too. On top of all of that, they're among the least expensive sheet options out there. I truly find it hard to say anything negative about them. About the only issue is mine felt a bit papery until washed a few times, then they've been wonderful ever since. If people approached them with an open mind and gave them a fair chance I suspect they'd have more converts. They're very impressive sheets, just not a status symbol. If you want bragging rights on a set of sheets, then microfiber isn't for you, but if you want a good, soft, smooth, comfortable sheet that's nearly indestructible, then give microfiber a try. (You can get sets in all sizes for around $20 at Boscovs and other retailers.)
