I've never owned a recliner as I've always thought them big and unattractive.  However, the  Z Boy (not supposed to mention vendors) makes some very attractive styles.  So, this year for Christmas we gave each other a recliner (they match).  Delivery will be in a few weeks.

Do any of you have something to share about them if you own them?

I have 2 suggestions for you.  1.  Get electric controls.  The manual handle is difficult to deal with daily.  2.  Go for a chair with a longer foot rest.  If the foot rest is not long enough, your feet hang over uncomfortably.

They make them that just recline, rock and recline, or swivel, rock and recline.  Some are just normally sized and filled, but some are oversized.  The oversized are too big for my taste too.  We have two rocker recliners in our family room.  I sit in one everyday and most of the time, the dog climbs up there with me.  Some nights I'm restless and rather than toss and turn in bed, I'll come down and sit in the recliner to watch a little TV and I end up dozing off.  It's not the best sleep, but it's sleep.  I hope you love yours.

A couple of years ago, we updated our living room.  We picked out a couple of chairs we liked, just for the style and fabric and it turned out they have a lever to raise a foot rest and they recline slightly too.  We don't really use those features though when we're in the living room.  We do our lounging in the family room.

We have five of that brand and love them! Three of them rock and recline and two of them just recline. The two that just recline have a small footprint and don't take up a lot of room but they are very comfortable. We have one oversized one in the family room and it is wonderful also. Then the other two are medium size and they work great. They hold up really well and no problems at all with them.

Hello @Puzzle Piece.  My La-Z-Boy is sized for me. I feel like Goldilocks in papa bear's chair when I try the bigger recliners. But La-Z-Boy has sizes and styles for everyone.

This year I treated myself to the SureFit plush comfort recliner cover when it was a TSV. It makes my La-Z-Boy  recliner snuggly warm and keeps it clean. The chair is built to last.

I bought one last year & we love it!! I bought the electric one with lumbar support!! It's incredible!! It's a bit expensive but worth every penny!! Both my husband & I have bad backs. When laying in bed is to uncomfortable we are able to sleep in the recliner.Luckily,we haven't needed to at the same time!! Eventually, I hope to buy another one!! It's well worth the investment!!

Thanks to All

We had a very knowledgable sales gal who helped us out.  She made sure we had one with a back tall enough and a seat that would be such that we didn't find it too small or too long.  The foot rest was wide because my husband has a cat that naps with him so we took the cat into consideration.  We purchased two that will swivel, rock, and recline.  I'm sure the cat will approve.

I resisted getting a recliner for many years until I had a work accident that made it difficult to get off of the sofa without help.  I did look at the ones that actually lift you up, but I had made a decision that I would be able to get out of the chair by myself as long as I kept working out toward that goal.

When we went to the Lay-Z-Boy showroom, our salesperson made sure that I got a recliner that fit me perfectly--not one of those large ones.  It rocks and reclines.  I don't recline too often, but I am happy with the purchase.

We purchased two and got them at a great sale.  We also bought a non-reclining sofa.  The salesperson and the decorators were great.  They came in to my home and rearranged furniture to that everything is perfect.

The next time that I hear salt and ice together, it better be in a margarita!

I have a Lazyboy recliner that looks like a high-back chair. It doesn't rock or swivel and is on the small size for my small frame. When my friends saw it for the first time they couldn't believe it was a recliner. I love Lazyboy furniture. It's made well and it lasts.
