@Snicks1  you had a lot going on.  May I ask you about the roof....did you put on a second roof or redo he whole thing.  I ask because I think I am looking at that project soon.  Probably a second roof.

We are having new carpet installed in the bedrooms next week which also involved new paint in those rooms.  Last year we did bamboo hardwood in the rest of the spaces minus bathrooms. All new baseboards will be going down as well.

Next up will be new countertops in the kitchen and bathroom.  It seems we always have at least one project going on and our house isn't even old!  LOL

@Snoopp, we had to tear off the old (there were already two layers) and start from scratch. The company we hired was great, the tear-off was done in just a few hours and the new was completed on the second day.

I was just talking to my husband about home projects. We did a full roof, down to the rafters with about 40 sheets of plywood needed, as well as a kitchen total gut in late summer 2019.

We had been talking how glad we were we got it all done before Covid hit. But honestly, since the price of supplies has skyrocketed, and the availability of many supplies tanked, I'm even more grateful we jumped and got the work done.

Future projects are gutting the living room. New large picture window, new electric baseboard heating units, new baseboards, new crown moulding, new carpet, new paint, and probably a new railing for the stairs.

But.......with the cost of materials skyrocketing, I'm considering putting it off and see if prices come down some.

The other thing we were considering is replacing the deck. We want to explore a composite or something besides wood. Not sure if the prices of those type materials are up considerably as well, and if they are, we may just start putting back money and wait it out.

Everything is in order with the house right now.   My BIL is coming soon to grind out 8 stumps for us.

Oh yeah. We still have 5 to get done here. The trees were taken down late in 2019, and the stumps didn't get done as Covid set in. We have really just been ignoring the whole thing, and focusing on other things.

It doesn't help that our property sits really low, and it's only fit to bring the grinder in during late summer drought period, so it keeps getting put on the back burner.

@Mominohio I saw you post here and I had to check in to see if it was about the trees!

I think we'll see sky high pricing on builder materials until at least Fall. Up here, composite decking is cheaper than treated lumber. Some plywood/OSB is pricing over $50/sheet.

Just signed the contract to replace five large contractor grade windows with Andersen.  We'll do the remaining three next year (this is as expensive as replacing a roof!!!).

We replaced our carpet on the first floor with hardwood a few years ago but never did the steps.  We decided to get a new carpet for the steps and upstairs hallway which was installed last week.  It's a beautiful faded damask in ivory & light brown.

We also ordered new living room furniture...sofa, two chairs, coffee table and a small accent table.  I ordered the furniture about six weeks ago and was told it would take 4-6 months (but maybe sooner).

I plan on having custom area rugs for both my dining room & living room made using the same carpet that was used for the steps.  I think it will tie it all together really well and I can't wait for my new furniture!!
