Rec's please, for a floor steamer.

Many years ago I purchased a Haan floor steamer for my hardwood floors. It was one of my best purchases from QVC. It died on me last year, just before I moved and I didn't replace it.

In my current home I have vinyl plank flooring. I'm looking for a cordless steamer.  I would appreciate any recommendations. Thank you.

@house_cat    Have you considered one of the nice, new Bissell floor cleaners?  Seems like they'd cover a large area a lot faster and easier.  I don't have one but they appear to do a great job.

I have vinyl flooring that looks like wood in the kitchen and bathrooms.  When the floors were cleaned with a steam cleaner, it left white marks.

I'll have to take a look. I've always been happy with Bissel products.  I notice some of them are also vacuum cleaners. I have a Dyson vac that I'm very happy with, so I just need the steam feature.

Yikes! That's very concerning. My old one was wonderful on my hardwood floors - I wonder why the vinyl would be a problem.

Not a clue.  When they were mopped again after the white lines were noticed, it took care of the problem.  This flooring is SO real looking, the installer brought his brother over to see it.  His brother didn't believe it until he stepped on it with leather soles and heard the noise!

@house_cat, Put the idea of steaming out of your mind forever!!!!!!! The glue and pvc can react to high heat and it can cause permanent damage. You could read about your particular floor to see the cleaning products recommended but heat is out.Woman Sad I remember reading this when researching various floor products for my new place.

Thank you. I was coming to that same conclusion. I guess I need to look into this a little deeper.
