Re: ROOM WITH RARE ACCENTS OF PURPLE

This is not for me. It reminds me of my Aunts house in 1968.

I would have to change the chairs and pillows. The sofa is fine.

I like the idea of the cabinets changed to white.

I am not a purple girl to begin with so it was never something I would choose.

If you enlarge it the colors are not quite the same as they look here!  Very pretty !

Re: ROOM WITH RARE ACCENTS OF PURPLE

I agree about the colors of purple in a home.  My bedroom walls are lavender.  This room is pretty but I would make some changes in the furnishings to warm it up.  I like the dark wood , it doesn't overwhelm.  I do like the size of the room, .love a lot of space!

Re: ROOM WITH RARE ACCENTS OF PURPLE

I love purple and pink, but the colors in this house leaves a lot to be desired,

I would prefer the two chairs be a solid purple or pink.

Everything else can go., even the colors painted on the ceiling and walls.

As far as the wood trim, it need to be lightened up.

Take a closer look the wood has been painted.

I once had a rug like the one on the floor, no, my feet hurt walking on it barefoot.

Am sometimes struck that you don't see rooms with purples, lilacs, deep pinks, etc., that often, these days.

I like their bouyant effect on this living room-- livening it up.  The house looks to be Craftsman-influenced, and runs the risk of being a bit gloomy with the very dark woodwork.

Channeling Doris Day's character in the movie Pillow Talk, perhaps painting the fireplace one of these painted brick colors would elevate the room from buoyant to flamboyant:

@QVCisFun

I see what you did there. Haha.

That would be flamboyant! Not sure which one I'd pick!

I don't care for the purple chairs, but I do like the print chair. I think that adds enough without th esolid purple chairs! It is not my style at all, and I would probably never decorate with purple except maybe a bit in a bedroom, but this isn't horrible to me.

Re: ROOM WITH RARE ACCENTS OF PURPLE

The space and architectural details are fine, but I don't like the way this room is decorated. I don't like the print and purple chairs. The sofa is ok, but I would prefer removing everything and starting over. The furnishings and accessories just aren't my style.
