Am sometimes struck that you don't see rooms with purples, lilacs, deep pinks, etc., that often, these days.
I like their bouyant effect on this living room-- livening it up. The house looks to be Craftsman-influenced, and runs the risk of being a bit gloomy with the very dark woodwork.
I think I'd go a step further, and lighten the woodwork. Might even controversially whitewash at least the ceiling beams, if not more, leaving the original finish of the wood in just a few rooms that you transit quickly, like an entryway. Then you get the best of both worlds...
But this room, even as is, looks like a cozy living space, sparked with those purples and pinks.

I love purple, but don't love those purple chairs.

@Oznell I love lavender and decorate with it often but I don't like purple in decorating. It is such an intense color that, in my opinion, it sucks up all the energy in the room...much like red.

I don't mind the purple but dislike that print chair. The room seems like two people with different tastes designed it. It bothers me that the purple is not carried onto the walls or is not represented in the accessories. The conservative tans just don't mix with the vibrant purple.

I like the purple chairs & bright accent pillows. Its a surprising, unexpected unique look. Agree about lightening the wood beams.

I like it to look at. It's different and they did it well I like the fusia candle co ordinated with the pillow. That said, I wouldn't care for that in my home for more than a couple hours, lol. Also, it isn't something I could live with. I am a home owner who buys good quality furniture with a shape for the ages. After 20 years or so I may recover a piece. lol. I am ready to do that now. All the living room furniture.
I think the purple is fun to look at, critique, have a conversation about....but not to live with. Interesting though!!

I would like to change my color scheme once in awhile with unusual, different colors. However, try finding "different" colors out in retail. Not impossible but very difficult to find if you want something other than what the industry has decided the home decor colors are going to be. And I can't afford custom-made items. Anyway, this has been my experience for the past 50 years.
I like color in my home decor, but this particular room has too many-- purple, magenta, gold, blue, brown. Visual overload for me.

My entire living space has purple decor and accents and my bedroom is painted in foxglove. It's been my favorite color forever. 💜
Not sure I love what they did with it here though.
