Re: RE-PURPOSING A COMMON OBJECT

My favorite is the rolled towels. I put rolled bath towels in the bottom tier of a two-tier Mikasa metal basket QVC sold years ago. Washcloths and soap goes in top tier. I think the wine rack for towels is perfect.

These are great ideas!! Now I'm going to be on the lookout for a second hand wine rack; would normally never give it a second look! Smiley LOL Thanks for sharing!

But where would I keep my wine?.  LOL.  Seriously, great ideas. I have something similar for towels in thr bathroom, but I think I paid top dollar at Smith and Hawken.  Thanks as always for the great ideas!

Re: RE-PURPOSING A COMMON OBJECT

Yes the idea of repurposing is a great one.

The only caveat: if it has intricate, curved parts, you will be faced with the need to dust the item.  So many times I have seen attractive decor items at Homegoods and then asked myself " Okay, do I want to have to dust the darn thing when needed? " Usually the item goes back on the shelf !

I have a black wrought iron baker's rack:  the scrollwork is gorgeous but a real chore to dust.  Also, I would never buy furniture that has carved scrollwork...same issue.  And, at this age, I don't want to spend time nor energy doing the upkeep required.

Re: RE-PURPOSING A COMMON OBJECT

I repurposed a medium size wire rack and use it to display/store tea towels.  It saves a lot of space in a kitchen drawer.
