Question about Rit dye

I have never tried using Rit dye before, but I am trying to redo my bedroom in purple. I am wondering if I can dye my polar fleece light blue sheets to purple? When you use thiis dye is it pretty color fast or will I wake up with a purple body ? LOL Also does it usually cover the color well ? any input appreciated I am kind of afraid to try but obviously it must work it seems to have been around a long time ?? anyone have experience with rit dye??
