I decorated my front porch and was able to plug my two strings of light into my exterior porch light - it's older and has an outlet in addition to a regular bulb that works off of an interior light switch.
I have an attached garage and on the side of the garage (around the corner, heading into the yard) I have an exterior light (newer model, no additional outlet) that it turned out by a switch inside the garage. I want to run two strings of light hanging off of the gutter above my garage door and plug it into the light around the corner.
I'd swear that I remember they used to make inserts that converted a light to an outlet. By that I mean you take out the bulb, scru (i know I spelled it wrong) in this insert which doesn't look like a bulb, it looks like a regular electrical outlet.
Am I cracking up or do they still make these things?
