I love mine....Use it as my pantry...from canned goods to macaroni.

I had the kitchen in my old house remodeled some 30 years ago. I had one of these corner cabinets installed (it was all the rage in 1990!). I never liked it much. It still was a bit of a useless space for me. I'm just surprised the the OP thinks of this as ""new"".

The video brings back memories of my house growing up in Huntington, WV. I still remember my mother asking me to get something from the turntable when we were in the kitchen cooking together. We used ours constantly, and it was one of the things my mother always mentioned she missed when she & my Dad moved to an apartment in Florida.

They seem very sturdy, so I don't think pans would be a problem, but to me it makes more sense to keep smaller items in them so I don't have to rummage to find what I want.

I came back to mention I have an upper one, too. Forgot until I was spinning it last night to get something.

Mine also have a little edge on them, but I've still temporarily "lost" something when I'd spin too fast. I've managed to recover all of them...I think.

I recently remodeled my kitchen and with the exception of the cabinet under my sink, I have no lower cabinets with doors and shelves. I instead have all drawers. I looked at this style and the pull-outs and quickly realized that you have to first open the door then, either pull turn the lazy susan or pull-out the sliding shelves as opposed to just opening a drawer and immediately having access to the item without the added step. Drawers are so much more functional.

If you are not remodeling than these are a great way to go, but if you are about to embark on new cabinets, go with drawers and as few lower cabinets with doors and shelves inside.

I've seen them in homes from the 1950's through present day and think they are a great way to store items. No reaching to the back. We called them Lazy Susans, and not Roller Drawers.

I agree. Is this being featured as something "new"? I had this in my kitchen when I had it redone over 15 years ago. The contractor suggested it, and it was fine, but not anything that I got overly excited about.

In our last home we had a corner cabinet just like the one pictured with a lazy susan and DID indeed keep kitchen gadgets and equipment in it and it worked great. That being said, we re-did that kitchen ourselves and I was able to have lots of input into what I thought would work best for us. We now live in a home with very little kitchen storage and I dream of the old kitchen!

Lazy Susans are cool! My parents' house, built around 1960, had one!
