I'm not big on blue for most interiors, but think this is a very fresh, refreshing and pretty shade of blue. Had to remind myself the pretty cabinet interior, which I do think is paper and not tile, would disappear when the cabinet is closed, so for those who find it 'busy', keep in mind it would just be a 'surprise' pop when opening the door. I don't know that I'd have chosen the same plates to display, but they appear, from what we can see, to be part of an overall color scheme. Taken together, I think it's a very pretty vignette and it would be interesting to see how it plays with the overall space.

Love the pale blue cabinetry & tiled wall.  Nice in a farmhouse or cottage.

Not my taste.  It looks like the 80's are back and the ducks can't be far behind.

Re: Pretty Kitchen Vignette...

@Sooner  I don't think the ducks are coming back anytime soon, but based on a lot of what I'm seeing and reading in the shelter rags, a modified 80's look is becoming popular, with more 'painterly' looks, florals, color, wallpaper, more traditional styles and so on... It's a streamlined version and one that I like quite a bit after years of grey, greige and a more modern look... Of course, that look too continues to be popular, but some of the supposed 'pros' are thinking it's grown a bit stale... I agree, though I never liked it... And best of all for folks like me who love it, green has gotten hot....

@Sooner  and @stevieb

I still have a couple of my 80's ducks stashed in the back of a cupboard, just in case of a style reincarnation.

@GingerPeach  As long as we don't see a return of hunter green with burgundy and wallpaper borders, I'm good... But I do like the look of a return to 'prettier' rooms...

Re: Pretty Kitchen Vignette...

Even though blue is my favorite color, I don't care for it (especially this shade) for kitchen cabinetry.  There's not much else I'm fond of either so it would be a huge NO for me.

Re: Pretty Kitchen Vignette...

I don't want to go back to the clutter of the 80's and 90's and am not a fan of the rustic or country looks.

I'm all about a mix of contemporary and traditional, with fewer decorative objects and not many artworks on the walls.  I DO however love wallpaper in entry ways and bathrooms--especially something dramatic in powder rooms.

I hate trends and am never a follow or those.  To me I don't like to be like everybody else and I don't like to look so dated in a few years.
