For the past year, I have been researching off & on at different appliciance stores for a portable dishwasher. I plan on purchasing sometime next year.
To date, I have narrowed my research down to an 18" Kennmore w/stainless steel interior, color black. I already know the options I want & don't want.
Sears is where I will purchase as I really trust them when it comes to buying large appliances. Never a problem w/their products from MY experience. Pluse FREE delivery is always nice.
I live in a 3 story highrise. I am on the 3rd floor. It's just me (retired empty nester).
For those of you that own a portable dishwasher my questions are......
1 - Noise level? Quiet Guard really works? Asking because I will be using DW right before I turn in for the evening (over night).
2 - Digital controls vs Button controls. Pros & con?
3 - Do all portable DW come w/faucet adapters?
4 - Easy set-up.
Thanking everyone in advance for their suggestions & comments. ![]()

@Mz iMac I'm surprised portables are still out there to buy. They just seem 'old fashioned' if you will - not that I have a problem with old fashioned anything, well almost!
So anyway, years ago my husband and I inherited on 2 separate occasions portables, one from his grandmother and the other from his mother.
We now own his grandparent's home in 1985 and moved into the house with everything intact. Yes we used the dishwasher but as old things go so finally did the portable. I think it just finally rusted out. Years late his parents totally remodeled their kitchen and we got their dishwasher. And yes we used it too. A couple of things bugged me about them - you still need room for them in the kitchen or elsewhere, so they still take up space. It's just hubby and me so it took a long time to fill them to then run it. For me, this is impractical because there's always something in it that I/we would want to use often.
Ultimately for me, a dishwasher is useless. Again, it's just two of us. And you always have to rinse the dishes, pots, pans prior to loading to the point of 'washing' them prior to washing them!!! This is so redundant to me. This is all my opinion.
As for the rest of your questions, anything digital in this day and age, goes out and takes much of the operation with it. One digital panel controls so much. Just saying.
Neither of our's were very quiet either but again that was then, not sure if today's portables are whisper quiet or not. And yes they do come with faucet adapters. As for set-up, just roll them to the sink, hook up the water hose and go.
I'm not at all trying to talk you out of having one, I just don't think they're a good buy. If you want a dishwasher really, I'd have a permanent one installed. And if you're tinking no space for it, where will you store the portable?
Hope my thoughts give some more thought for you.

I have one that is at least 23 years old or older. I don't use it on a regular basis since the house I moved into has a built-in model. I do use it in the garage when I have tons of dishes during the holidays. It still works fine.
When I got mine the faucet attachments came with it and it was very simple to hook up. When it wasn't in use it wheeled next to my counters and added more counter space. It makes the same amount of noise as a regular dish washer. I don't find it extremely noisy.
I prefer buttons versus digital. Digital stuff seems to break down more often.
Good luck. Gail

It's very expensive to install the dishwasher plumbing if it isn't already there. Way cheaper to get a portable dishwasher.
I live alone but I couldn't live without my dishwasher.

we bought a maytag portable dishwasher 7 years ago and love it. its not as quiet as a built in dishwasher is because it not under counter so its going to be noiser. ours is lectronic and washes very well.
