@BirdieGal wrote:We have a very nice Pier One here. I love their items and stop in from time to time.
The only thing about the store is that (mine at least) is so jam-packed it is easy to get sensory overload.
My most recent purchase from there was some beautiful clip on feathered peacocks for the lighted urn trees in my foyer.
Lol! I bought the same clip peacocks!!! They are sooo cute! I love peacocks in general, they are a good luck symbol in many cultures and just beautiful birds. I also bought a peacock velvet pillow- gorgeous- for my bed.
And you are right about sensory overload!!!! I just want everything.....

I love this store. I purchased the round glass table in two different sizes.

I got my chandelier and table lamp at pier one. Their coupons have a lot to be desired. Most of the time they are only good on regular priced items. The to lights I got are gorgeous and very good quality. Sometimes they have s good rebate through ebates. I watched the two things I got for a couple months so I could get s feel of what the lowest price would be.

For the most part, I love Pier 1. As others have noted, their merchandise is unique and usually of good quality. I have had a couple of disappointments, though. The latest was a pillow I bought for my sofa a coupld of months ago. The seam at the bottom has started to rip open, exposing the stuffing inside. I first noticed it just a few weeks after my purchase. I probably should have returned it, but instead I've stitched it myself and, since you can't really see the bottom of the pillow, it's fine. It bothers me, though, that the quality is subpar given the fact that their items are exactly cheap. Funny thing is I think a lot of what they offer (especially their glass hurricanes) are of really great quality.
One other thing that really bothers me is that you have to print out and bring any coupons that are advertised on their website or show them the coupon from your phone. I know they are perfectly within their rights to run their business any way they like, but this just doesn't sit well with me. I don't like to play the game. It's one of the reasons that I never go to Kohl's (although to be honest I'm not really a fan of Kohl's merchandise to begin with). I just don't want to play the silly coupon games.
The last time I was in Pier 1, I bought a few hundred dollars worth of goods. When I got home I went to their website since I wanted to order another item. I discovered that they were having a sale (both online and in store). The associate at the store never mentioned it (I realize she is not under any responsibility to do so), but I just don't think it makes a lot of business sense to irritate a loyal customer. I continue to buy there, though, so obviously to me the pros outweigh the cons.

I have 2 bar stools and 4 dining table chairs from Pier One. All excellent quality with no problems at all. They are used daily and in 4 years never a need to tighten the legs.
I have a store very close by and stalk sales all the time.

I bought bedroom furniture at Pier One; a dresser, chest of drawers, a large mirror and an armoire. Brought it home in my SUV one piece at a time. It's a sort of primitive style, Spanish, and has held up just fine.

I love pier one, great items, good quality and online. They also have good sales online and free shipping at 49.00.
Another good store is No e Goods but they are not online, and not as good as Pier o e.

I just love to drift around Pier 1, looking and looking. It's restful and stimulating at the same time-- the best of "recreational shopping".
Bought 4 dining chairs there. They are sort of "farm house Italian" with an X design back and slightly rounded "splat" (not sure if that is the word) at the top of the back. I got two in a distressed ivory, and two in a medium fruitwood finish. They are striking and I just love them. Have held up perfectly over the last approx. 5 or 6 years...
