I hope this is an OK place to post this. I just wasn't sure of the proper category. I have a full service for eight of the Pfaltzgraff pattern, Tea Rose and have used it primarily for special occasions through the years. My mother was a collector or the original blue Yorktowne pattern. When she passed away, I took her Yorktowne set and now use as my 'every day' dishes. It was the pattern we used every day when I was young and living at home, so it has sentimental value to me. Recently I find that I have been mixing the two patterns on my dinner table. It's a rather eclectic look, but one that I have come to appreciate - - sort of blending the old with the new.
I just wonder if anyone else finds mixing their dinnerware an attractive alternative to the norm?
