Patching and Painting Walls

We took down a towel rack in our bathroom as it was in a strange place and just not needed there. It left this little ring where it had been....I hope that makes sense as I am trying to think of another way to describe it. We sanded that ring off and then filled in the holes. I painted and could still see it. So we filled in some more and kept painting. Still not happy and I just figured out why. Hello! The walls in there are lightly textured and the area we have spackled is not, so we have the flat splotches on the wall. Our paint is not textured at all that we are using. Any idea how to get the textured look in those 2 little areas?
