I just heard from Yankee Candle on the pumpkin with the hat and also the glass pumpkin. This is what she said. Hope this helps

Item 1257985 The black metal hat on the Glass Pumpkin is removable

Item 1262060 There is an opening in the back of the Mercury Glass Pumpkin.
