Hi JPC: Thanks for checking out those P1 pumpkins. My store still doesn't have them. I'm glad I didn't order them off the website. I'll just wait and see if we end up getting any around here so I can take a look at them first. I was trying to find the orange one with the squiggly lines and the black stem you mentioned but I coulnd't find them on the website. The only ones I saw were the chevron ones but those are not glass. Too bad about the owl. I really like him. I stood him on top of another pumpkin I had so he's just perched up there watching everything going on. I think I have a few of their owl ornaments from last year. Oh well...guess we all got out cheaper this year. Just not much else to add to the collections.

I can't wait to see the quilt. Are you giving this to someone as a gift???

You're welcome MTH. Like I say, they aren't bad but just didn't jump out at me and say you gotta get some type of thing. Hopefully your store will get them in for you to decide. If you ordered off the website and didn't like them, couldn't you take them back to the store????

I had seen the fabric for the quilt several years ago but not idea what I wanted to do with it. One day a friend at quilting was looking thru a magazine that had a baby quilt in it made with the same fabric and really liked it so that is what I did. Will be for DGD who will be needing it in the near future. I already have given her one but will be giving her the pokey little puppy and book sometime too.

This is the Halloween one, was under the Halloween items. Hope it doesn't come out too big. They aren't really swirls in them but couldn't come up with a word that described them. Had to tell myself several times I didn't need them and my wiser side won out and I am really not having any regrets so guess I made the right decision this time. Other times I have had buyers regret.

Picked up the pokey little puppy quilt yesterday and finished the binding on it today. Will take a picture and try to figure out photo bucket again and if I can, will share the picture of it. I have the book from when the kids were little.

Have a good week

This is the first I've read of you making a Poky Little Puppy quilt. How cool.

This is probably my most memorable book from early childhood:

JPC: Your quilt is going to be absolutely adorable I'm sure. I really loved that book. I guess its' still around. Your DGD is very lucky! I would never use it...lol. Can't wait to see the pic.

Thanks for the pumpkin info. I will check that pumpkin out as well. Didn't really notice it when I was in the website which is probably a sign that I don't need it either, but I'll look at it in person.

SHOPR: What a great blast from the past. I don't have the Christmas book but I have the original story. I was always a dog lover (so my mom says) so it was a cherished book for me.

Hi SHOPR,

Did you have the first Xmas book???. I have been checking that one out on ebay and thought I would buy it too to go with the quilt. I have just the poky little puppy book that was the kids's and it will go with the quilt too. The scenes on the quilt are the ones in the book I have. I have never read the Xmas one but the cover is soooo cute, I am sure the inside is too.

I do like the way the quilt looks, MTH. I hope she will like it along with the books.

Don't look too hard for those pumpkins MTH cause they might just end up at your house. They are really cool and each one looks different and 2 different sizes. Let me know what you think.

Thanks for the link to the reading of the Poky Little Puppy Xmas book reading. Going to have to watch it.

JPC, I have the Christmas book pictured above. It is the only Poky book I remember ever having. I still have it and it's a big approx. 9" x 12" book, but only 11 pages or so. I would suggest watching the YT video because the lady gives a nice look at each page as she reads the story. You'll know from watching that if it's a story you want to buy or not. HTH!

Oh SHOPR, what a treasure you have. I thought the lady had a bigger book than others I have seen. The one I have is the size of all the wonder books as they are now only it was the original. I am sure the one on ebay I saw was also a smaller one.

Bet you really treasure yours. I noticed on the utube, hers was very well worn.

Did Watch the video and now I know I have to order one to go along with the quilt and the other book.

There is no way your DGD won't fall in love with the quilt. What an amazing gift!!

I'll stay away from Pier 1 today. Monday's are always busy at work anyway so I will stick close to the office, even at lunch. Tomorrow is another day{#emotions_dlg.biggrin}. I did manage to pull up the pics on the above pumpkin on the P1 website and they are quite pretty. Last year I bought one of the large amber colored ones so I'd really like some orange. I'll keep you posted. I really want that JS witch tho. I'm getting antsy about that. Guess I have no choice but to patient for another few weeks.

JPC, I was just noticing on ebay and etsy that the large book and the smaller book with the golden binding are both offered. I don't know if they are the same story, since I've only read the larger one with the red background. Mine looks in similar condition to the one the lady is reading. It's been well read.
