I'd like to explore your acceptance, or rejection of pink in home decor. Do you like it, or no? Does it depend on the vividness, or the maybe the *amount* of pink in the room?
For me, a pale, blushy pink, or an earthy, terra cotta -ish pink, is pretty much a neutral. Bright fuschia is not for me in rooms, but the softer "off-pinks", I love.
One Kings Lane likes pink, and ran a neat little feature on pink in the home:
Love this whisper of pink in a sitting room-- so often we see white walls in a room like this.
Do you like when pink is accented with brass ? I love it-- and also the deeper toned pillows on the couch. Touches like that keep pink from being too "kitschy kitschy-koo", in my opinion.
The few pink accessories they gathered here-- enlivening!
Now, to give you an idea of my own personal tolerance, the brightness of some pinks in this room is getting a little too much for me...
But the barely-there wash of pinks in this bedroom, yes!
And this one too, love.
Then there's the issue of men and pink in rooms. I just asked hubby -- "Would you generically reject having pink in a room?" He replied "I generically reject pink in a room!" But then he chuckled, so I can't get a straight answer out of him.
(I do have subtle peachy-pink or brick-y pink accents in the living room, but I don't think he perceives them as "pink".)
Where stand you on pink?

The walls in all the public areas of my home and one bedroom are pale pink that appears beigey pink at times depending on the light. This is the third home I've owned where I've used this color. Furthermore, my mom liked it so well, she had her interior painted the same color. The color is Sherwin-Williams Petite Fours. Two of my rooms have a mauve accent wall, the exact color if our Sandia Mountains at sunset.
I use mostly shades of turquoise as an accent color, including some painted furniture. Have a lot of Indian art, pottery, Navajo rugs, paintings.
I'd post a sample of the color but the Sherwin-Williams site is down for "touch ups".

@Oznell Love the pictures.![]()
I like pink. I'm just very particular of what shade. My living room is painted Adobe Pink. And old Ralph Lauren color. I just love it so much. My foyer is painted turquoise. It plays off really well with the "pink" living room. I pop the room with silver, turquoise and different shades of pink accent pieces. I have Granny Smith green leather furniture.
I love magenta and hot pinks in my clothing too. Pink is a happy color for me.

I had a friend that used pink containers in her kitchen pantry. It seemed so off to me. Pink has it's place but not there.

This past year, I bought a comfortor, pillow shams and
matching Euro pillows in a soft pale pink, for my white iron
and brass bed. The quilted design is stitched in a Fleur de Lis
pattern. On the wall next to my bed are two brass Fleur de Lis
candle holder wall sconces.
I like pink in a bedroom. In the 80's, dusty rose was the color for my draperies and bedspread.

@Oznell - 1, 2, and 3 are really nice. Like you I think 4 is too much. 5 is not enough, and 6 is just OK.
DD had a pink room. My favorite was in Texas. Her room was painted light pink. There was an alcove. We had wallpaper from the bottom 3/4 way up. It was beautiful. It had a print of antique doll houses, alternating the outside and the inside. The background was light beige, with the doll houses done in washed tones. I loved that room. Had we stayed in that house, I would have kept the color and used it as a guest room!
We moved to our current house when she was 8. Her room was cream with light pink/peach carpet. So I guess I still have pink in a room in our house!
I think the right shade of pink could be very soothing. And I love it with brass accents.
DH would never go for it. He doesn't even like pink sheets. But he sleeps every night with a Japanese cherry blossom gold leaf screen over his head. There is some pink in that! ![]()

Oh @Kachina624 , I'd be disappointed if you didn't! That's kind of what I pictured in my mind. And that color you're describing sounds like one I would really like.
