Re: PHILADELPHIA (PERHAPS ROW HOUSE?) LIVING ROOM

@Kachina624 I bet you're correct!  LOL!  Those row houses are really small.  She's lucky to have a finished basement.

@Oznell My pet peeve is lighting fixtures and the one in the row house is a horror. I love the fixtures in the lavender kitchen, they're perfect.

Re: PHILADELPHIA (PERHAPS ROW HOUSE?) LIVING ROOM

I find myself quite fond of the end result design/decor in this rowhome.

I could be quite happy there, including the kitchen. Cat Very Happy

Re: PHILADELPHIA (PERHAPS ROW HOUSE?) LIVING ROOM

It looks like a row house to me. I like that she uses color but I'm just not fond of her prints and/or the mixture of them in the living room and that small dining room.

It's a big NO on the lilac kitchen.

I like the wall color of the row house but it's just way too narrow for me.  Would feel claustrophobic and cramped.  The lilac color in the kitchen would be the first thing to go if I moved in there.  It's awful.

Re: PHILADELPHIA (PERHAPS ROW HOUSE?) LIVING ROOM

@Kachina624 ,  and @haddon9 ,   our 1910 cottage,  while not a row house, didn't have a downstairs bathroom originally either.  But luckily, someone before us, put in a tiny powder room under the stairs.  In these old places, they seemed to tuck them in wherever they could.  And, @haddon9 ,  the sink in ours is also dollhouse-sized!  I don't think I've seen one that small before.  But at least it does the job...

@PA Mom-mom,  I knew one of you Pennsylvanians would have the lowdown on Passyunk!    Sounds like a very fun neighborhood.

@Love my grandkids   I agree, especial the chandelier in the dining room.  It seemed overly pretentious for a home of that type

To the best of my knowledge, any Philly rowhome built after 1972 or so, has a powder room on the first floor.

Re: PHILADELPHIA (PERHAPS ROW HOUSE?) LIVING ROOM

The kitchen seems too " frilly" with the lilac color and the kitchen light fixtures.. I do like everything else in the home; not a big fan of the shade/ shutter combo by the table and chairs. I would have chosen one instead of both together.

Re: PHILADELPHIA (PERHAPS ROW HOUSE?) LIVING ROOM

I have been in a few row homes in Philadelphia. And am surprised to see a fireplace in the middle of the living room. A row house has to have a firewall between each house. When there is a fireplace there has to larger indentation in the wall. Wonder where the fireplace is in the house next door.

Guess that is why the living room looks so narrow. With all that furniture I would have to weave around all the furniture to get around.

But really like the entrance way. You can take your boots off before entering the house, or wet coats. So maybe there would be a chance that the house would look reasonable after people went tromping through.
