These types of outdoor spaces are common in the big adobe homes North of Santa Fe in the hills looking toward the Sangre de Christo Mountains.  Since its very chilly there in the evening, they typically have a big fireplace.

@gidgetgh   This looks like a grand enough place so maybe the owners have a staff of people who "take everything in" like the cushions and pillows or cover them overnight?
