We are getting a security system installed around our 25 year old house.

While the installer was walking around the crawl space he noticed two small water leaks.

I called a plumber to take care of the problem.

$15,000 to $20,000 to redo all the pipes in my house because copper pipe is obsolete and they only work with PEX.  WHAT?

I had no idea!

Wish me luck in finding a plumber who will just fix the leaks without tearing apart the entire house.

One morning when I got up I could hear a hiss noise which was in the plumbing in wall next to the toilet. DH cut out the Drywall so you could see it. The plumber repaired it using PEX.

One day when I walked in the kitchen I could hear a leak behind the refrigerator. DH cut off the Drywall. Another pinhole leak in the copper. This time the plumber soldered it.

When we remodel our bathroom PEX is what they said they will use.

@juanitalinda  I don't know if this works well in your location, but I had a smaller job I was able to get good bids on Angi.  The key was patience.  The bids were slow to come in and I felt I had an emergency and I almost got ripped off by the first bidder.  Bids took a few days.  I was impatient.  If you have a local hardware store, I would also ask there if they have someone, because establishing a regular relationship with someone you may need again is good.  But I would get several bids.

@juanitalinda :  I would try nextdoor for recommendations for a plumber in your area.  Usually the recommendations are brutally honest about the experience they received.
