Oreck vacuum help...please

Myneighbor was throwing out their Oreck XL vacuum. When I saw that, I asked if it worked and she said yes, may need a tune up but work fine. She even gave me some additional bags she had. Well when I got it home, I realized it didn't have the bottom plate on it. So that and the roller brush was missing. I went back out to where they had put it but didn't see this part.

My question is, if I have to purchase this part along with a tune up, is it worth keeping this vacuum? I've never had one but I know they are rated the best. Does anyone know how much a tune up costs?
