I think Q's CIJ, CIA, CIS, CIO, CIN and CID are akin to cleaning out the basement. They sold them same junk last year that they've sold for many years and repeated it ad nauseam through December.

I was on that same train of thought for several years, but last year's offerings were some of the best I've seen in a long time. There was a lot of new things, and it seemed less focus on rehashed items from the past. Hopefully this year will be like that again.

It doesn't matter if QVC had every item new, some would still complain because theres 2 days out of the first 7 months of the year that they are not getting their 24 hour dose of beauty, clothes or $300.00 purses. I'm right there with you mominohio already looking forward and loving it. I Christmas shop year round, already have about 8 gifts bought.

I can shop for Christmas any month of the year, so yes, I look forward to CIJ. MIO, come on down to Mo and we'll crank up the AC, put a log on the fire, drink hot chocolate and enjoy the CIJ offerings. {#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

Oh, please! I'm just now toying with putting away my snow shovel!

We saw a few snow flakes this morning and forecast again tomorrow but no accumulation. Back to the 60's and 70's next week. Probably safe to put away the shovel. Smile

Around the holidays, I'm always buying, cooking and entertaining for everyone else. I'm totally okay with splurging for myself a little bit when CIJ rolls around.

Oh I can't imagine wanting Summer to come solely because of some shopping channel programming? Are your serious?? I don't even watch tv during the summer months. I'm out having too much fun! smh

Read much? OP clearly states, that I'm not wishing my spring and summer away but looking forward to CIJ. So sorry that you don't think people should have something to look forward to. Mid July for me is more work than fun, and many of us find a nice pleasant respite in a weekend of what is to us, fun programming on a shopping channel. It isn't our sole existence for the entire summer season, but it is what some of us consider a little bit of fun. Why must that be so hard to understand. smh

Exactly. Guess what? I AM wishing my summer away - I HATE summers!! Specifically the heat! I look forward to fall and winter! Why is it okay for people to complain about snow and winter and look forward to nice spring weather and pretty flowers, but I can't wish for fall/winter???!!! I LOVE CIJ! Can't wait for it and read all the threads!!!

Re: Only about four months till Christmas in July!

Thinking about CIJ cracks me up. Two of my neighbors and my niece just took down their outdoor Christmas lights yesterday when we had a couple of hours of warmer weather.

I yelled at one neighbor and told him to leave them up and turn them on for Easter.

The couple of times I watched CIJ, QVC offered so many Christmas decorations. I have more than I can put up in my house at any given time, and I am sure I'm not the only one.

When is it time to stop buying new things? What do you do with the old stuff you don't use anymore? Everything I have, even the 40 year old stuff looks like brand new and I get so emotionally attached to my Xmas things...they always bring back memories.

That is a wonderful invitation, and I just may take you up on it!

When my son was little, we'd do exactly that, turn up the window ac in the rec room, put up his PlayHut tent, get out the blankets, and make hot chocolate and cookies. We'd try to stay up all night, and watch the 'Santa's Toy Shop' shows, and had a great time coloring in his Christmas coloring books, and reading Christmas stories.

I guess anything is what you make of it, and we made a big deal of CIJ!

You are so right about the emotional attachment we can have to our Christmas decor. I have such a hard time parting with mine, and I do need to pare it down, because it does bring back such good memories. There is a portion of my things I don't use anymore, but I can't part with, because of that.
