Now For Some Color

What do you think of this colorful room?

The colorful patterned tile looks very interesting, but it's not something I would choose. I'm not a fan of slipcovers, but it looks like they tried to tie in the colorful patterned tiles by placing similar color pillows on sofas with light slipcovers. I don't care for the black trim and blue wall color on the built-ins. Love the dark wood floor.

If I had that tile, I would definitely keep most everything else neutral. I would keep the built-ins in their traditional dark wood color or paint them a light neutral color. I would want a couple of color coordinating pillows on light neutral sofas without slipcovers and a solid neutral rug. The tables, artwork, & chandelier aren't my style so I'd replace those.

I'd replace the tiles, the artwork and the chandelier for sure! I could live with the rug and the pillows, I am also not a big fan of slipcovers, but these aren't too bad!

While the tile is interesting I prefer a neutral fireplace. It makes changing furniture and accessories easier.

Decorating styles and colors are very personal decisions. I love the colors in that room but I do not believe I would be relaxed and happy to live in the room.

This room is definately a fun color explosion!

There is a flow and repetition of color which brings the room together.

I couldn't relax in here either.

Its not so much the color in this room that's the eyesore, its the overuse of pattern. It wouldn't be nearly so loud or busy if they got rid of that tile around the fireplace and some of the clutter like the books.

Although strictly a matter of personal opinion, I think the painting over the fireplace is hideous too. It doesn't even look like a decorative item, more like a commercial ad.
