No, not for me!  We got rid of dark heavy woodwork in the kitchen, and a hood in these colors, and simplified, lightened and brightened the whole space and I love it.

 

To me, this is gloomy.  And having lived with the general vibe, no thanks.  The other huge high ceiling light rock kitchen, I loved, but not this one.

This is glorius. Imagine the light you would get in that kitchen on a 

beautiful sunny day. The picture is partially cut on top so we don't

even get to see all of it in its glory.

Why does it need an island? It is a huge kitchen with lots of space to prepare meals. An island would obstruct walking space.
