Dreamy, soft, comfy, and ethereal, with just a little 'glam' thrown in--  nice!

It is perfection to me.  Calming and warm.  I little too much clutter.

I just came from the post "Pattern Overload".  As soon as this post loaded, my eyes relaxed and quietly said thank you.  Very tranquil room.

Lovely to look at but totally NOT for me.

No way would light colored carpets and furniture work for me.

I'm rather messy and need furniture and colors that I can "live in."

Re: Nice Color Combination

A palette of muted colors with a hit of almost black is said to be a major upcoming trend. It's lovely and rather sophisticated. I always find these muted neutrals tricky to get just right, because they each change with the lighting. Any discordant undertones will become very obvious at certain times of day or seasons.

I get the glass and mirrored tables. But I'd rather see wood or paint in this room. More in keeping with the fireplace surround and the modern architecture. The whole "glam" thing doesn't have much life to it, and this big room doesn't need to reflect light.

Pretty and comfortable as this room is, though, it looks rather generic to me. Maybe the poster who suggested an interesting piece of art has the answer. Or a different area rug. Me, I'd probably run right out and replace those white flowers with a big bunch of pink or yellow roses, not screamingly vivid but not too pale.

A bottle of champagne and two flutes would would be a nice touch. But what room could you not say that about, hmm?

I agree with you, @KaySD , that the "glam" thing is lifeless.  But if I had to limit myself to making only one change, I'd get rid of that ugly, dust-collecting, and dirt-showing shag rug!

I like the colors but the room is a bit too formal for me.  I like really casual and no worry when you want to lounge that you will mess something up!

There is no way I would have thought to put these colors together, but I really like it.  Elegant and comfortable at the same time.

I remember the 80s when mauve and blue were so popular
