New Panda Cub!

Mei Xiang, the giant panda, gave birth at the National Zoo! Tomorrow is her 2 year old's birthday, too! Baby is loud and squirming around!

And it was shocking to hear this morning that it's TWINS!!!! The second one having been born around 10-10:30 last evening!!!!! I hope both survive. They're alternating between mama bear nursing one while the staff bottle feeds the other. Absolutely astounding how tiny they are when they're born and the size they ultimately grow to be!!!! Fingers crossed for both babies!!!

The server kept crashing, so I gave up trying to watch the cam last night. Imagine my surprise when I learned that a second cub was born! Indeed,very good news for DC and the panda team.

All of the excitement crashed Bao Bao's 2nd birthday party and I have only seen a few pictures. Good thing for Facebook where peope are posting their photos.

Luckily, I had eyes on the ground at the party and I should have some real pics in my hands in a couple of weeks.
