Thank you for the encouraging replies.

I am not new to New Mexico . I love this state . There is no perfect state .

I sold my house in California and I had many houses there in the past.

My new house is  in Los Lunas , interest rate 3.9 . I am adjusting . I have many plans for my future . Many people from many states are moving to Los Lunas , because of property taxes as well as climate changes in other states. I can take the Amtrak to California 20 hour trip from Albuquerque. I have friend's from the desert coming to the Albuquerque Balloon Festival . I have taken the train to Albuquerque. and I will be taking the train to Santa Fe in August . I am an adventurer and look forward to many new adventure in New Mexico.

Always look forward .

Los Lunas is just a hop, skip and jump from Albuquerque.  Several of my coworkers have homes there.  And you'll be there to see some significant growth in the next few years.

You are correct, of course.  There is no perfect state.  But New Mexico does have a few things going for it.  Big skies, varied landscape, four distinct seasons, fascinating flora and fauna.  And, as you'll discover, lots to explore.

Welcome, neighbor! Heart

My 55-year-old niece, born and raised in California, moved to Greenville, SoCar, last year, because of the same reasons you left.  She moved to SoCar because her dad was from there originally, and since her mom (my sister was deceased as well as her dad), she moved to an area where she had relatives from her dad's family and her mom's family.  She has cousins and nieces in NoCar and SoCar so she has family to build a base of friendship.
