There are some things that I purchase based on what's the best buy. There are some products to which I'm BRAND LOYAL. I like Cottonelle Ultra and buy it whenever it's on sale. My hoo ha is happy.

Good grief! I swear to you, I was thinking this same thing yesterday! I thought, "OK, I live alone, I am female, I don't use much toilet paper, I just replaced the roll and now it is empty again!
This is crazy! I thought it was my imagination! I remember when my girls were living at home and my husband was alive I used to hold "Seminars" on how to replace the toilet paper roll! I really did! I'd call them into the hall bathroom and tell them the procedure! We'd all laugh.
I doubt that we are the only ones. I just came home with a huge package of toilet paper, but then when I looked at it, there isn't much on each roll. I've already gone through several rolls! There just isn't much on each one.
OK, now I'll go sit down! I'm glad to know it's not just me. For the record these were called "Northern".
I bought the store brand and the stuff fell apart before I could use it! It's sitting over in a corner (again another huge package of the stuff). No one wants it, even if it's free. My friends don't even want the stuff. They have the same problem!
I'm just happy I'm not loosing my mind!

I saw someone uses sponge on a stick. Maybe I'll use that smily face thing QVC sells!

I get what the OP is saying. We are always putting new toilet paper rolls on. There is hardly anything on one now! It is a rip off and it is annoying to constantly be changing rolls. I'm not talking brands because I haven't found one that doesn't run out so quick.

On 4/8/2014 Clover29 said:The rolls we get from Costco are so fat, they barely fit in the holder (they're not wide, they just have a lot of paper on them). The first three or four times you use the roll, it's really difficult to pull enough off. I end up getting lots of single squares.
They weren't like that a year ago, when they were individually wrapped in tissue paper. Now they just come in a huge outer plastic wrap. It must be the only grocery product that got bigger, not smaller.
ITA.....I have 3 bathrooms and loved having the individually wrapped rolls to put in the baths that aren't used very much; hate that once you open the big pkg now all the rolls are open.

About five years ago I was on a coupon-clipping mania and bought literally a multi-year supply of Cottonelle -- had it in my attic, basement, you name it. Finally used all those bales and have been buying on an as-needed basis. But I did have one 12-roll pack left in the back of the linen closet and broke it out the other day -- wow. I couldn't believe how much larger and more tightly rolled each unit was. Quite a difference between the Cottonelle being sold today.
Personally I'd rather pay more for the fuller rolls and and buy them less often but I guess the marketing gurus figured it was better to cheapen the product, which sells for about the same price it did back then -- $5.99 or so on sale for 12 rolls -- but contains much less.
