Re: Need to buy a comforter. Suggestions?

   We use a down blanket. Not as heavy or filled as a comforter and no need for a duvet. You just put the whole thing in the washing machine. We find it breathes well and works for all seasons...

Re: Need to buy a comforter. Suggestions?

@Icegoddess

I understand the width issue with wanting a king sized down comforter to go past the juncture of bed springs and mattress.

My solution:  I found a silky dust ruffle ( king size ) and cut the three sides leaving a small white strip of fabric.  Then I sewed these sections to the sides of the comforter.

It always looks great.  The entire " creation " gets washed and air dried ( hangs over a poly covered pipe in the basement ).  The dust ruffle strips never need an iron....great fabric.

It should be said: I absolutely hate sewing but this is an easy project even for me !

Good Luck !

@GingerHead

I'm a fan of down blankets too.  Summer one blanket, winter two.  I recently purchased the one you posted, love it.

Re: Need to buy a comforter. Suggestions?

@Sooner  I purchased one from kohls a couple months ago that so far has been great! I did buy a king for our queen bed so there's plenty on the sides. It was one of their " Big Ones" and it can be machine washed as dry clean was a deal breaker for me.

@Icegoddess  I always buy a king for my queen mattress so there's plenty overhang. I can't stand it when the sides are short. So many brands are skimpy.

Off topic:  I am aware that OVESTOCK has purchased Bed Bath & Beyond BUT when I search for Overstock.com the address takes me to BBB...so I am wondering if Overstock no longer exists, anyone know?

Re: NeedIm to buy a comforter. Suggestions?

I'm not having luck finding anything to replace a quilt. I've typed words like comforter, quilt, duvet, coverlet, bedspread and down blanket into the search bar.  Prices are high and nothing appeals to me.
