Need help re: sewing machine thread, please

I have been looking at the reviews on line regarding the various sewing machines. I have noticed so many say their problems with the machines are resolved when they buy gutermann thread. I can not find it any where. WalMart is my only source locally and it is not there. The reviews indicated that the quality of coats & c. has gone down. I have tried to find it on line; but, I must be overlooking it.

That could be the problem with my Singer. Does anyone have any experience with this? The sewing machines I am finding are Brother & Janome, as well as Singer. I searched several sites for reviews.

Any help would be appreciated.
